shivrajpatil 26th Novemeber  2008  rocked Mumbai, India and the whole world. One more entry to India’s long list of terror strikes. What is happening? The event was a clear indication of the negligence of the intelligence and a weak effort by the Home Minister. Should Shivraj Patil call himself responsible for not being able to provide India and Indians a safe and secured country? Should he quit – Is the question?

Indian public needs to show the politicians that their negligence is going to cost them their power.

ViewsNest was too fast to launch the debate to capture public views on this topic. The debate is still on @ viewsnest.com

This is what some of our current debaters had to say on this -

Oink says “ The point i wish to make is that while the home minister is very much responsible for this tragedy, he is not being helped by the very system that he functions in. Let us assume, as a hypothesis, that Mr. Patil is exactly how we all want him to be. Tough, sincere and highly motivated to ensure the citizens’ safety, doing his job meticulously. I want to ask you all, how do you think he would have prevented this attack, had he had all the above mentioned qualities, if the system itself is stagnant? Obviously, replacing the entire system is impossible. He cannot fire everyone and recruit completely new people. a good system comes over a period of time much longer than the tenure of a typical politician in power.

The blame is not just with Mr Patil. It is with every individual, all groups of people, all organizations that are not doing their allotted duties with sincerity. It is time to cleanse the system, instead of asking some politician to accept blame and step down.”
Vinay counter attacks by saying – “ Well I dont think that its because of terrorist intelegence that they are succeeding but because of our negligence. When India losses match against Any cricket team people gather infront of every cricketer’s house and burn their effigy but what about this terrorist blast where so many innocent people are killed.I personally donot entertain burning effigy and shouting loud on streets but our politician who are failing to protect the life of innocent citizen should either act or please leave this position of resposibilty.I don’t understand if they don’t feel guilty or ashamed of their incapability.”

The debate is still on and needs to till every Indian is aware of what is behind it. Please log your view at http://www.viewsnest.com/story.php?title=should-shivraj-patil-take-responsibility-and-quit
